absoluteBLACK Premium 1X 104 & 64bcd Oval traction narrow wide chainrings are designed for any cranks that use 104bcd mounting interface. This is the most common mounting standard for Shimano and other 4 arm cranks. It is the most Premium oval chainring on the market with scientifically proven performance gains. 10/11/12spd compatible.

Important

*32T chainring has build-in 2mm spacers and threaded holes (M8x0.75) to accommodate this size on spider. Other sizes have regular 10mm holes.

*30T chainring has build-in 2.5mm spacers and threaded holes (M8 / M5) to accommodate this size on spider. It also comes with bolts and spacers in the package: 2x M8 aluminium bolts T30 torx, 2x M5 steel bolts T25 torx and 2x eccentric spacers. This is a patent pending solution.

* 30T oval chainring will not fit some power meters, like SRAM Quarq Dzero 104 BCD. If you are unsure whether it will fit your power meter, please contact the absoluteBlack customer service team.

HOW TO MOUNT 104BCD ABSOLUTEBLACK OVAL NARROW WIDE CHAINRING:

There is a small mark (triangle shaped) on the inner circumference of the chainring.

This mark Must sit behind the crank arm.

In 28T oval there is a dimple instead of the triangle mark. That dimple must align with the crank arm and Must be visible to you when mounting the chainring (recesses on the mounting holes face the crank tabs).

DON’T KNOW WHAT BOLTS TO USE WITH 32T OVAL CHAINRING WITH INTEGRATED THREADS?

They are standard bolts. You can use a granny ring bolts (from 64bcd chainring) or use the ones that connect middle and big ring from 3X crank. You can also buy them from us in Bolts tab. Pick “Long” ones. Other sizes like 34 and 36T use “short” bolts.

It is ideal for 1x 9/10/11/12spd and Singlespeeds. Oval (elliptical) narrow wide chainring does not compromise the work of clutch mechanism in rear derailleur. It also does not require chain tensioner when using in singlespeed application. Riding out of saddle on the uphill will become more pleasant. These chainrings also help you to recover after knee injuries as pedaling becomes smoother and less exhausting. It is the most advanced oval chainring currently on the market.

The most advanced, Patent Pending narrow/wide tooth profile ever produced, guarantee minimum 12 months of excellent chain retention capabilities! We mean it. Always use a new chain with a new chainring.

• Chain options

  10, 11 or 12spd chain for geared bike or 6-8 spd one for SS (1/8″ also fits). If used in 1×9 drivetrain – 10spd chain must be used to obtain the performance. (yes – 10spd chain will work great on 9spd cassette)

• Chainguide needed?

  No. But if you want one then chain guide should have 2 teeth more capacity than nominal oval ring size.
