Raising money for charity, all proceeds from The Bike Place Kielder Marathon Series will be split equally between Kielder Trail Reavers and The Great North Air Ambulance. 

As main sponsors, The Bike Place provides prizes down to third place in each class on the day, as well as the Challenge trophies for the overall series winner in each class.

As well as vouchers from Saddle Skedaddle for class winners at each of the three races, those that finish in the top three of each class for the
overall series, will be entered into a prize draw to win a Saddle Skedaddle MTB or Road weekend break of their choice.

For 2012, as well as individual entries, there will be the facility to enter teams.

Back again for it's second year, the 2012 Blast takes place over the weekend of September 22nd/23rd.

A unique event suitable for all abilities, it could be described as an "off road sportive" taking riders through brilliant countryside in Northumberland National Park and Kielder Forest. On quiet lanes and forest roads, the scenery is breathtaking. 

There is a long route (approx 60 miles) on the Saturday, with a shorter family friendly route on the Sunday. Both routes are waymarked and marshalls and safety cover will be provided. 

Why not make a weekend of it, do some cycling and enjoy the hospitality of this beautiful part of Northumberland. 

The Bike Place will be supporting the event offering a free bike check (any parts to be charged for) to any entrants who have a problem before or during the rides. Our shop is in the main street in Bellingham, and we also have hire bikes available if required.
