It's taken a while, but the purpose built mountain bike hire building at Kielder has taken on a new identity as the Kielder Cycle Centre, and has a new operator, namely The Bike Place!!
Forget what went before, this is a whole new beginning. We have lots of new shiny bikes, the same brilliant team in place dishing out our usual excellent service, but in this new site we can take things to the next level and tick all the boxes!!
Up and Over Black section off Deadwater trail is closed due to felling operations.
Kersey Cleugh through to 3 Dog Climb on Deadwater is closed due to tree felling.
Cross Border Trail - The southern part of the loop (via Kershope Burn and Scotch Knowe) is closed due to felling operations. Please go both ways via the Bloody Bush pillar.
Lonesome Pine - Snow all gone now even at the highest points - ride and enjoy. Second section of handbuilt trail underway at Capon Hassock - more volunteers needed, check Trail Build section on www.kieldertrailreavers.co.uk
Now the Winter is over, guess what - It's trailbuilding time again!!
The second section of hand built singletrack at Capon Hassock on the Lonesome Pine trail is coming on well, with over 100 metres of new trail built since Christmas!! We are always looking for extra help, so if you ride the Kielder trails and want to put something back, and have your input on the new sections, then we need you!!
As a new incentive, the Kielder Trail Reavers are offering £10 per vehicle towards fuel costs at every trailbuild. A free T shirt and free parking passes are also on offer, so check out the Trail Build section on the Forum at www.kieldertrailreavers.co.uk
The all new Santa Cruz Bronson - how good does that look?
If you've seen the pictures you'll know what I mean. Bronson is the new incarnation of the Blur LT ( a hard act to follow), but with a touch more travel and the new 650B (27.5") wheels this bike has taken the US by storm.
Interested in trying one? Demo bike arriving soon, so please call Ian to book your ride.
